B. C. Majinga Library has evolved conceptually . . .

I (Jack) have accumulated somewhere around four to five thousand books over the years; this collection is B. C. Majinga Library. Collection began in Montana and was shipped to Puerto Rico where it continued to expand. For years, I have desired to make my collection available to all, both for the benefit of the community and because I feel I have too many possessions. My book collection is really the only thing of "value" I own--Oscar Wilde comes to mind regarding "value" and "price" and I am not at all equating the two--but the time has come for me to depart from my books.

I have not been able to find a proper venue for my books as I had originally conceived--but then . . . well a long story accompnied by growing regret . . . in short, I gave them away.

I am arriving to the world of technology, albeit slowly. I am so pleased to find that a dream of mine has been in process for decades--the digital preservation of books.

Each week, B.C. Majinga Library will highlight a selection of digitalized works that are available on "Open Library"--just click the link. If you set up a free account, you can read these for free. Of course, you can check your local library or bookstore for physical copies. These selections will be randomly selected from my former collection and naturally are restricted to works that have been digitalized. My hope is that a book or two will be experienced that otherwise may not have. Each week new selections will be cycled in and out (probably three to five books at a time).

I had always hoped and intended that my physical collection would serve Cabo Rojo, and it may someday; but an upshot to this new concept is that one doesn't have to reside in Cabo Rojo, PR, to experience one of these books.

Please read a new book.
